Cleveland HiBORE XLS Review
About 3 months ago, June 2008, I got the opportunity to hit the HiBORE XLS for the first time. A friend of mine that normally shoots in the high 90's got a set. Personally, I thought he was crazy to buy a new set of clubs when he could of invested that money in some good lessons. Anyway, that's another issue.
To my surprise, these hybrid golf clubs have lowered his score by about 8 strokes. Boy was I wrong. He let me hit them just to show them off and I was equally surprised how easy they were to hit and control. I've always been a Callaway guy, so it is tough to admit how good these hybrid golf clubs really are.
One thing I did notice was the ability to easily manipulate the trajectory of the ball. I was able, without much effort, to hit a high draw. Something I have difficulty controlling today. The next swing, I was able to hit a straight, low stinger. Something you have to have in Texas.
